Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Philadelphia, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across Pennsylvania run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. Typical hours are 11:30 AM–10 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (267) 541-2063. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, curryleafphiladelphia.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 163 reviews, which is a strong result for an indian restaurant in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

THE FOOD WAS FANTASTIC! I've tried quite a few Indian restaurants in Philly now, and this is definitely the best so far. I got takeout and the food was ready quickly. The containers were filled to the brim, packed safely, and everything was flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend the cheese naan. I loved my kadhai paneer. Definitely will be back.

The KING of Indian Cuisine! I had chicken tikka masala with garlic naan (and I forgot my wife's order), but it was the BEST curry we ever had. So GOOD, definitely returning soon to this hidden gem in the neighborhood. This is the KING!

I’ve tried quite a few Indian restaurants, and Curry Leaf Indian and Nepali Cuisine is the only one that keeps bringing me back. In fact, this is the second time I’ve ordered the exact same combination: chicken biryani, vegetable samosas, raita, and gulab jamun. The chicken biryani is excellent. What makes it stand out are the cashews and golden raisins mixed throughout the rice. They add a wonderful balance of textures and flavors—crunchy, sweet, savory, and aromatic—making the dish feel more complex and satisfying than your typical biryani. The vegetable samosas are equally impressive. The pastry is fried to perfection: golden, crisp, and wonderfully crunchy without feeling greasy. They’re the perfect starter or snack alongside the biryani. For dessert, the gulab jamun is absolutely delicious. Soft, rich, and soaked in sweet syrup, it’s like biting into a delicate sponge filled with honeyed goodness. Don’t skip the raita. This cool yogurt-based accompaniment is the perfect complement to the biryani. It balances the spices beautifully and ties together the crunch of the cashews and the sweetness of the raisins, creating a harmonious bite I also appreciate the value. This order

Curry Leaf Nepali and Indian Cuisine in Philadelphia offers an exceptional dining experience, combining warm hospitality with beautifully prepared dishes. We especially loved the garlic naan, which arrived hot, fragrant, and perfectly blistered, easily among the best we’ve had. The vegetable samosas were crisp and flavorful, with a well-spiced filling that tasted fresh rather than heavy. The standout was the chicken tandoori, served tender, deeply marinated, and packed with smoky, vibrant flavor from the tandoor. Altogether, it’s a restaurant that delivers authentic Indian cuisine with finesse, making it a place we’d gladly return to.

tl;dr definitely the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Initial vibe: Stopped into Curry Leaf (2046 Sansom St) and was hit with that warm, comforting spice cloud the second I walked in. It’s a Nepali & Indian spot right in Center City, low-key and welcoming. Ambiance: Cozy, casual, and clean—tables are close enough to feel lively but not cramped. Lighting’s soft, music at a chill volume, and it’s the kind of place where you can actually talk. Nothing fussy; just the good stuff. Food: the garlic naan…insane. Blistered edges, pillowy middle, tons of garlicky bite—outrageously good. (They list Garlic Naan on the menu, and it lives up to the hype.) Mains were deeply flavored without being heavy—sauces tasted freshly built, bright spices, and you can tell they care about balance. Prices are super reasonable for Center City: naan around $6–7 and classic curries ~ $19–20, and the portions are big—one entrée plus naan easily fed two of us with leftovers. Service: Friendly and fast without hovering. Water refills kept coming, food landed hot, and they checked spice prefs without me asking. Felt like they actually wanted me to love what I ordered. Value: For the quality + portion siz
